For some, fluoridated water still hard to swallow
Finally, LA is flouridating its water! Apparently Martin Sheen is one of the crackpots against this idea. Who knew they still existed? It's a bizarre policy to which to be opposed.

Why do you find it a bizarre policy to be opposed to juniorbird?
I wonder why Martin's opposed to it?
My friend is married to his son. I know they exist. I know few things about Martin, that he is a caring guy, grandparent, and parent who is passionate about life and people's safety.
I find it bizarre that people oppose flouridation because it's a very cheap way to improve public health, with essentially no side effects. Not only that, but many US (and international) cities have had flouridated water for upwards of 40 years now. It's not an odd or innovative policy that threatens the little guy, if that's what you think. Unless you think the little guy is served by tooth decay.
Interesting. Ok. Again, I wonder why he's opposed but I was thinking he may be uncomfortable with the idea of putting element in water.. I understand both positions but maybe he doesn't understand the benefits of fluoride in water. He's probably never experienced what water is like with fluoride in it. How would he understand that it improves public health unless he saw studies proving it? How would he trust that non harmful levels of fluoride would be put in the water?
Most people filter water to get elements out of it, would it be necessary? What is the source of the fluoride, where is it coming from? Is it safe?
I want to know now. Will it make our water harder? I wish the city could tap into our natural sources of sulphur mineral and use enough of it to make our water soft. The water here is so hard and smells like chlorine. I don't like it because it's so hard and I can't feel the benefits of bathing in it. Sulphur has a strong smell like eggs but it feels soo good, clean, and pure. I like it's smell at a certain level in water because it gives me an amazing benefit and feeling. It makes water so soft, slippery, and clean. I love bathing in sulphur mineral water.
I'm sure you have many questions. So may others. However, since flouridation has been prevalent since the '50s, there are plenty of places to get answered. You've certainly drunk flouridated water if you traveled. I grew up with it. So did both of my parents. Anybody who publicly and loudly voices doubts about flouride in water is either stupid or too lazy to inform themselves of evidence that's been available for decades.
